Lucie Update- Jan 25, 2015

Hi Y'all,

Our sweet Lucie Pie had a "boring" day today.  Her feeds and her vent settings remained the same, and she continued to be incredibly stable.  We loooove boring days :).  They added protein to her feeds, which will help keep adding the grams on to Lucie-Lyn.  She was sleeping so peacefully when we got there today, so we let her have a day to just rest up and neither of us held her, but look at how cute she looked!  So peaceful, right?  Robby caught her smiling today so we tried our best to capture the moment.  Hope you can see it in the picture below.

Since this is a "shorter" update, I wanted to share something we read this week that was extremely encouraging for us, especially in light of her PDA ligation surgery. It's from Romans 8, "The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs —heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him." (Romans 8:16-17)  It was encouraging to think that even in this difficult time that we are going through, we are not suffering alone.  We are children of God, and that goes for Lucie too.  It was also cool to think about how He can even use this tough situation to bring us closer to each other, to you all, and to Him.  It was a good reminder that although we could go through this without Him, we don't have to, because He cares for each of us and has never left us or forsaken us, not even for a moment, and He will bring glory out of this tremendously hard season in our lives.

For those in the NYC area, stay warm and safe!  Winter Storm Juno seems to be on it's way with 20 - 30 inches of snow!  We love you all so much!

Love & Hugs,

Andrea, Roberto, Lucie & Bess
